UNSOLICITED SUPPORT OFFERINGS OVER THE PHONE - We have received multiple reports recently of customers receiving unsolicited support calls from companies claiming the the users computer is infected with viruses and/or spyware. They then offer to repair the problem by remotly accessing the users computer and correcting the problem. This involves the user connecting to a website and installing software on their computer which gives the company unfettered access to the users computer. It also involves the user providing credit card information over the phone to this company.
BE WARNED - We have not been able to ascertain who this company is. It is important with any unsolicited phone call that you never divulge any personal or credit card information unless you can verify who the party is on the other end. Please be wary of the calls. If you suspect there are problems with your computer you should always call or bring it to a reputable repair center to have it checked out. NEVER respond to unsolicited calls from unknown repair companies

ANTIVIRUS PROTECTION - Viruses and Spyware are an integrel part of using the internet. These hazzards can represent a threat to your computer's security ranging from a minor annoyance to identity theft, data corruption and even causing your Windows installation to become corrupt and unusable
